After more than a month of wearing dresses, squarepants, and all things chic because I felt the need to dress my age (my style has always been juvenile and has not changed since high school), I conclude that denim jeans are the least comfortable clothes ever.
Okay, the "need to dress my age" part is not true at all. I was, honestly, left with no choice because all my clothes are still in the laundry, and that includes all the four jeans I have.
I finally understood why some women do not like wearing jeans. All this time I was led to believe that these closet staples are the comfiest, being conservative and non-restrictive to movement, but my whole life has been a lie.
Now, I’m trying to get jeans out of my system for the following reasons:
1. Jeans are expensive. A good pair costs around Php 800-1000 and that's already on sale (this is coming from a poorita).
2. Shopping for the right pair is no different to rocket science. It's hard and frustrating. I have big thighs, so every pair that fits my thighs is big on the waist. If I buy a pair that fits my waist well, my thighs are going to scream murder. Once I find the perfect pair that I have scoured for days, there's no way you're going to find me go through all that hell in the next three years (Hence, I only have 4 pairs since 2013).
3. The struggle does not stop there. I could easily be mistaken being in a hard core porn for all the grunting I make trying to squeeze in skinny jeans.
4. Jeans come with pockets that can only house two pieces of M&Ms. Seriously.
5. And lastly, which is probably my deciding factor, I had to unbutton my jeans every time I devour huge amounts of food. And to those who knew me well, you know that food is all that matters to me.
I do not have a lot of options right now because I have not been so willing to splurge on new clothes. I just make do with whatever’s in my closet, grab the ones I have not touched since the day I got them, and just hope I do not make it to Cosmpolitan's list of cringe-worthy fashion don'ts (if something like that existed).
But until then, I'll contemplate about this month-load of laundry because every time I look at it I am seriously considering on just becoming a nudist. Haaalp!

I love how this hangs like a skirt but is actually pants. I hope this style lasts a long time because I'd like to make it my closet staple like how I did with jeans. |

Cullotes, pallazo, gaucho, square pants, I don't care what they're called but these are my current closet favorites. Perfect fusion of comfort, elegance, practicality, with a hint of flirtiness. Haha |

I really love reading your blog! I think you look good with anything you wear.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I don't think I look good with oversized shirts though, magmumukha akong hanger. Haha
DeleteI love your second pic outfit! Hindi na din ako nagsusuot ng maong. Leggings/yoga pants is life!
ReplyDeleteI love leggings too. Madali at comfy suotin. :)
Delete"Jeans come with pockets that can only house two pieces of M&Ms." - Lol so true! Sobrang liit walang maipasok. Ditch jeans...go forth and be a fashion blogger...you look good with anything.
ReplyDeleteWhenever we go out and I don't use a bag, pinapatago ko ang phone ko kay Jan since di magkasya phone ko sa pockets ko. Haha
DeleteBagay sayo kahit ano because of your body. I stopped wearing jeans because it's not comfy especially for "chubby" people like me. I don't wear square pants also dahil lalo akong tumataba tingnan. Shorts, skirts, or dresses always for me.
ReplyDeleteI love wearing dresses. I think the only thing that's stopping me from wearing dresses is because I used to commute. Napakahassle magdress sa jeep. Now I can wear whatever I want to.
DeleteAyaw ko na rin ng jeans for same reasons.
ReplyDeleteApir! Dati talaga jeans are my staples. Now I avoid it like plague. Haha.
