Our Balut Island getaway gave me a lot of scratches and insect bites that left ugly red marks on my legs. I usually just leave scars alone and let them fade on their own. But since I will be wearing shorts in my Muay Thai trainings, I got a little conscious I decided to look for a product that will speed up the healing process.
A friend recommended Eco Skin Love Eco Balm, said it was effective for her acne scars. I was actually hesitant to get one only for the reason that I don't like balms in tub. I find it unhygienic knowing I would introduce bacteria every single time I dip my fingers on it.
But I got one anyway. And thank the high heavens I did. Because other than my kaartehan, I don't have issues with this balm. In fact, it did a lot of wonders to my skin - even more than what I expected. And a product like this deserves a review from someone who doesn't actually do reviews unless it's worth the time. So allow me to share why I dubbed this as a wonder balm.
WHAT IT CLAIMS
Lightens and smoothens skin. Helps fade dark spots and pigmentation.
"Our Eco Balm is made of cold pressed oils, nothing but natural ingredients. No yucky Petroleum by products, no mineral oil that can clog pores. Our Eco Balm is a multi purpose balm, it can be used to heal dry skin conditions such as eczema as well as scars caused by it. While it is a favorite scar healer, it can also be used as an overnight face balm to remove impurities." - Ecoskinlove
WHAT IT DOES
Eco Balm for Insect Bites and Light Scars
I had these nasty red marks for 3 weeks before I thought my legs needed rescuing. So for 2 weeks of religiously applying the balm 2-3 times a day, I am pretty pleased with the results.
The scars have not totally faded yet, but seeing it lighten up in just a matter of weeks is promising. :)
Eco Balm for the Lips
I don't wear lipsticks, tints, more so, a lip gloss. I avoid anything that will make my lips shine. What I love about this balm is that a small amount can go a long way. And unlike most lip balms it doesn't give my lips a greasy look.
My lips tend to go dry since I work in a cold environment. Having the Eco balm handy soothed my dry and chapped lips. It keeps my lips soft and moisturized all day. Plus, it gives my lips a silky feel whenever I wake up in the morning after applying it at night. And I would like to believe it helped reduce the fine lines and dullness on my lips. (Use a lipbalm with SPF if you plan to go outside under the sun)
Eco Balm for Underarms
Now, this is something I never expected. For someone who loves to wear tank tops, having nice underarms is a must. My underarms aren't that bad, but a closer look would reveal nasty chicken skin bumps that resulted from years of plucking and shaving (yes, I should've listened to my mom when she told me to leave it alone). And those bumps do make my UAs look dirty and dark.
Afraid that I might do further harm to my already damaged underarm skin, I never use any deodorant besides the only brand that I trust for my UAs: Nivea with 48-hour protection. But I don't use it on a daily basis since store-bought deodorants contain chemicals. In fact, I only use it when I do strenuous activities like a multi-day-no-bathing-hike. I just consider myself lucky I don't have to deal with smelly armpits even if I don't use a roll-on.
I've been searching for natural solutions as far as Google can take me on how to get rid of chicken skin, but most remedies involved peeling and it's not something that I would actually risk. I've read somewhere that moisturizing helps and can make bumps look better. So I decided to try this Eco Skin Love Eco Balm since it's made of natural oils. After all, it's organic. What can go wrong?
I applied small amounts of the balm every night (I would not advise you to use it during the day if you sweat a lot though). So after two weeks, I was impressed and got satisfied with the results.
More than that, what I love about this balm is that it slowed down the growth of the hairs. Which would mean, lesser shaving/plucking time. But of course, I plan to have a laser removal of my UA hairs. Tinatamad na ako eh. Because even if the balm did help in achieving a smoother underarm, plucking/shaving it time and again will still aggravate the situation.
THE FINAL VERDICT
Overall, the Eco Skin Love Eco Balm has exceeded my expectations. And I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants moisturization, minor scar lightening, and perhaps a remedy for impurities on armpits.
Please bear in mind that when it comes to beauty regimen, whatever works for me may not work for you.

To lessen the exposure, I had to transfer a small amount to a smaller tub. |

i love what it did to your pits! we have the same problem. i tried GPO nasunog lalo armpits ko. deos naman they darken the skin. i use kalamansi for now kaso lang messy. want to try that balm. i wonder if they have shops in Angeles?
ReplyDeleteThat's why I never took risks with peeling oils. May kilala kasi akong nasunog din armpits nya dahil sa peeling eh. Di pwede sakin yung mga ganyan, pabaya pa naman ako. Anyway, I'm not sure if they have shops outside Davao, but if I"m not mistaken they ship nationwide.
DeleteLike you, I don't like a lip balm that leaves a greasy look. I have dry and chapped lips too so I always need a lip balm. :)
ReplyDeleteNice underarms! Jealous! it is good that you have found a product that suits your skin.
ReplyDeleteinggit ako sa underarms! mine's dark dahil sa rexona. :( i want to try this. pwede malaman ang ingredients sa label maam?
ReplyDeleteThat's the reason why I avoid using deodorants. Natatakot akong umitim yung kilikili ko. Anyway, I updated my post. It's Jojoba Oil, Dende Oil, Beeswax, Rosehip Oil. :)
DeleteGees I want to try this for my stretch marks. I developed some from this pregnancy. Thanks for sharing. I'll check if it's safe for breastfeeding mom then I'll purchase.
