Cebu-Bohol Escapade

By Sarah Aterrado - July 29, 2015

Okay, I admit it. This is the first time I have traveled again by plane after so many years. And I'm glad to have experienced it with Jan. We've been going around Mindanao lately, and I think it's about time we put our travels a notch up. I believe we needed this getaway. It's the only time we have until we grind our heads back to work again.

We decided to go backpacking to Bohol via Cebu since both of us have never been there. We weren't able to visit all tourist spots in Bohol though as the weather made sure of that. But we made sure that we get to see the famous Chocolate Hills and the tarsiers.

Chocolate Hills, Bohol

The Chocolate Hills are amazing in actual than just seeing them in pictures. Actually, I didn't expect a lot from it, but we were awed of its splendor and beauty.

The weather was terribly dicey during the trip. One minute it's raining hard, then the sun's piercing our skin the next. But we enjoyed the entire trip anyway. So, here are a few pictures of our getaway:
Tarsier Conservation Area, Bohol
I actually feel bad for the tarsiers here. Especially when you see tourists who do not heed the instructions of keeping silent and refraining from using cameras with flash. Come on people, it's not that hard to understand and it has been translated in many languages. Geez
Panglao Island, Bohol
Good morning, Panglao! :)

Tagbilaran port. Waiting for boarding.
We experienced a lot of mishaps during this travel. Delayed flight, missed buses, lost sunglasses, items held off at the airport, bad weather or whatever it is that can ruin the best laid plans. But this is the best thing about not having plans, nothing can ever get ruined. :)

We'll definitely be back in Cebu and venture outside the city. Go free-diving in Moalboal, go canyoneering in Badian, or swim with the whale sharks in Oslob, perhaps? Yes, please.

Anyway, we also went Dolphin watching. Check out my post here
